One source of trouble for some students is their selection of courses. Nearly without exception, students who are dissatisfied with their academic performance, are taking nothing but large, introductory courses. When asked why they made these choices, nearly every student offers the same response : “to get my requirements out of the way.” Since many of the basic required courses have large enrollments, they make it possible for any student to become distressingly anonymous. No professor with a class of hundreds of students will be able to get to know each student well. Another disadvantage is that these students may not find courses that truly excited them. Therefore, by the end of the freshman year, when it is time to choose a concentration or major, they may not yet have been attracted to any discipline.
Howver, these hardship in freshman year is going to be a good experience. Samuel Smiles, father of the modern self-help movement, wrote in 1858 that “It is doubtful whether any heavier curse could be imposed on man than complete gratification of all his wishes without effort on his part, leaving nothing for his hopes, desires, or struggles.” When challenged, children, like adults, will find meaning in their accomplishment and enjoy the process of attaining their goals. Struggles and challenges are a necessary component of an emotionally rich life; there are no easy shortcuts to happiness. Letting our children struggle when we have the means to make life easier seems unnatural; but there are times when we have to allow them the privilege of hardship.

hot issue

The immoral girl in Kyung Hee University is going to be a hot potato. The happening begins from girls’ lounge in Kyung Hee University. A sweeper woman was cleaning the lounge, and a student (She should learn more about ethics. Perhaps it is better for her to go kindergarten, not university.) shouted with swear words to her because she didn’t sweep milk box. A sweeper woman was very afraid, so she said to her “I’m older than you, and it is very rude to shout with swear words to me.” Then, this rude woman kept saying swear words and rude behavior. It became hot issue because sweeper woman’s daughter wrote article about that happening in the Internet site. Many netizen got furious, and require discipline action. I’m also afraid that rude person is woman, and Korean. When I study in library, I sometimes pull 2 drinks from vending machine and give to sweeper woman. Then, she says “Thank you.”, with a bright smile. I got embarrassed because it is not a big deal. Perhaps, she is a sweeper woman in the university, but she is a mother, and a wife in her home. We should recognize that we should not ignore person only by her or his job.

how to make specs

These days, it is hard to get a job that you want. There are many people who do not having a job although they graduate 4-years university. It is a new proverb – it is nobles to have a internship after graduation. It shows us how difficult to get a job we want. It is important to university students to make their own career – TOIEC, TOEFL, and other extracurricular activities, if they want to get a job they want. I’m going to to tell you about finding unique activities outside of school.
When most students think about extracurricular activities, they focus on activities offered by their high school. Think beyond that world. One of the best things you can do to develop a unique extracurricular profile is to start thinking creatively and doing research to find activities outside of the school system to match your interests. Your community no doubt has hundreds of opportunities waiting to be discovered. While thousands of kids’ applications will include activities like football, student council, debate team, and other school-sponsored clubs, you can stand out by doing something different. This is a particularly important tactic for students who may not have successful track record in academics or school activities and need to compensate

youth to highschooler

When I see the students with school uniforms, I have two different feelings. One is enviness, and the other is poor because they don’t know they are happy. They make me to recall my high school days. Since I graduate high school in 02.04.2010, I want to have some advice to teenagers who are high school students.
Teenagers are social. Most enjoy the company of their peers and give a great deal of thought to important social issues like idol stars, hot dramas or movies, and mock test scores. Consequently, for some teenagers, striking a reasonable balance between academics and friends can be very hard, especially in Korean society. But if you are really concerned about improving your academic performance, you might have to do the “un-cool” thing. You might have to refrain from answering a classmate who is whispering to you. You might have to let a neighbor in your science class know that you are not interested in passing notes. You might even have to ask your teacher to change your seat because it is hard for you to stay focused in your present one. Go for it! No one’s approval matters more than your own.

Superheroes

In childhood, we make owns’ idol from superheroes through the media. Me, either. When I was a child, I saw many super heroes through media – Sarah (Sailor moon), Sally (Angel girl Nettie), spider man etc. Among them my idol was Sarah in Sailor moon. Sarah was beautiful, cute, and having great sense of justice but also a normal girl. She acts frivolously and cries often. However, she had a mission that saving earth from evil force. I’m going to explain why I want to be Sarah if I could be a super hero.

There are many reasons that I want to be a Sarah, sailor moon, among the various super heroes. First, she is cute and pretty. She also has a good shape. However, I’m not cute and pretty. What’s more, I’m in the situation that I should go on a diet. Since I was 4 years old, Sarah was my idol about an appearance.
Second, she has an ability to fight with evils. In sailor moon story, there is evil force which threaten earth. It is impossible for common people to resist them if they have a will, but Sarah is different. Since she was a princess of the moon at the former life, she has special ability to resist them – for example, moon crystal power, moon tiara power etc. That is why she is an idol super heroin.
Third, she resembles me in some parts. For example, she late for school frequently and act frivolously. Me, either. I sometimes forget my assignments and late for school, not frequently but sometimes. I think Sarah represents most girls in the world. They all want to be perfect, but in the reality, it’s not. They late for school, fell down frequently, and forget something very often.

So, I told you that my reasons of being Sarah in the sailor moon if I could be a super hero. Sailor moon is a piece of my innocent childhood, like your favorite teddy bear in the attic. I hope that I could remember it longer so I can remind my childhood for a long time.

Cats and dogs

Cats and dogs are eternal enemies. They both crave for people’s attraction. They have each own’s merits and defects. However, I prefer dogs than cats. Of course, It doesn’t mean that cats are bad pets, but I think dogs have better merits than cats.
First, they are animated than cats. Once I have been to cat café, which sells coffee and drinks with a chance to play with cats, but it was just throwing my money away. Cats were sleeping all day long. I tried to wake up them, but they looked at me with annoying mood. Some cats even tried to scratch my face. Only time when they woke up was snack time. They had never act charming. However, when I went to dog café, all of them was so animated that it felt like a loud noise. Also, they always act charming. They shake their tails, and when I throw a ball, they picked it up.
Second, dogs have a great sense of loyalty. From the folk tales, we heard about the dog that save the master from fire, instead dying him/herself in fire. It means that dogs have a great sense of loyalty. However, None of the stories have been come down about cats’ loyalty.
These are the reasons why I prefer dogs than cats.

How to use cafeteria

How to use cafeteria

What can you do if there isn’t lot of money in your pocket in the lunchtime? Perhaps, cafeteria can be a solution. A meal in cafeteria is about 2000~2500 won so you can enjoy your meal. If you want to use cafeteria, first, you should decide where to go. There are 3 cafeterias in our university – Nanhyankwan, students’ cafeteria, professors’ cafeteria. Nanhyangkwan sells various flour - based food such as jjajangmyeon, kimchi noodle, nangmyeon etc. Students’ cafeteria and professors’ cafeteria sell Korean food, but professors’ cafeteria has a buffet menu.
If you decided where to go, then, decide what to eat and go to the counter and buy the coupon. Coupon’s color is various for the kind of food. Anyway, for example if you decide to eat jjajangmyeon at Nanhyankwan, you should go to the counter and buy the jjajangmyeon coupon. And then, you give the coupon to the worker at jjajangmyeon section, receive the food, and eat.
Cafeteria is popular for students because it is cheap and quantity is great. Also, it’s near to classroom than other restaurant around SSWU so you don’t have to go so far. But there is also a weakness – it’s hard to get a seat. So, if you like to enjoy your meal at our cafeteria, you should get a seat first and get the meal.
