One source of trouble for some students is their selection of courses. Nearly without exception, students who are dissatisfied with their academic performance, are taking nothing but large, introductory courses. When asked why they made these choices, nearly every student offers the same response : “to get my requirements out of the way.” Since many of the basic required courses have large enrollments, they make it possible for any student to become distressingly anonymous. No professor with a class of hundreds of students will be able to get to know each student well. Another disadvantage is that these students may not find courses that truly excited them. Therefore, by the end of the freshman year, when it is time to choose a concentration or major, they may not yet have been attracted to any discipline.
Howver, these hardship in freshman year is going to be a good experience. Samuel Smiles, father of the modern self-help movement, wrote in 1858 that “It is doubtful whether any heavier curse could be imposed on man than complete gratification of all his wishes without effort on his part, leaving nothing for his hopes, desires, or struggles.” When challenged, children, like adults, will find meaning in their accomplishment and enjoy the process of attaining their goals. Struggles and challenges are a necessary component of an emotionally rich life; there are no easy shortcuts to happiness. Letting our children struggle when we have the means to make life easier seems unnatural; but there are times when we have to allow them the privilege of hardship.

hot issue
The immoral girl in Kyung Hee University is going to be a hot potato. The happening begins from girls’ lounge in Kyung Hee University. A sweeper woman was cleaning the lounge, and a student (She should learn more about ethics. Perhaps it is better for her to go kindergarten, not university.) shouted with swear words to her because she didn’t sweep milk box. A sweeper woman was very afraid, so she said to her “I’m older than you, and it is very rude to shout with swear words to me.” Then, this rude woman kept saying swear words and rude behavior. It became hot issue because sweeper woman’s daughter wrote article about that happening in the Internet site. Many netizen got furious, and require discipline action. I’m also afraid that rude person is woman, and Korean. When I study in library, I sometimes pull 2 drinks from vending machine and give to sweeper woman. Then, she says “Thank you.”, with a bright smile. I got embarrassed because it is not a big deal. Perhaps, she is a sweeper woman in the university, but she is a mother, and a wife in her home. We should recognize that we should not ignore person only by her or his job.
how to make specs
These days, it is hard to get a job that you want. There are many people who do not having a job although they graduate 4-years university. It is a new proverb – it is nobles to have a internship after graduation. It shows us how difficult to get a job we want. It is important to university students to make their own career – TOIEC, TOEFL, and other extracurricular activities, if they want to get a job they want. I’m going to to tell you about finding unique activities outside of school.
When most students think about extracurricular activities, they focus on activities offered by their high school. Think beyond that world. One of the best things you can do to develop a unique extracurricular profile is to start thinking creatively and doing research to find activities outside of the school system to match your interests. Your community no doubt has hundreds of opportunities waiting to be discovered. While thousands of kids’ applications will include activities like football, student council, debate team, and other school-sponsored clubs, you can stand out by doing something different. This is a particularly important tactic for students who may not have successful track record in academics or school activities and need to compensate

youth to highschooler
When I see the students with school uniforms, I have two different feelings. One is enviness, and the other is poor because they don’t know they are happy. They make me to recall my high school days. Since I graduate high school in 02.04.2010, I want to have some advice to teenagers who are high school students.
Teenagers are social. Most enjoy the company of their peers and give a great deal of thought to important social issues like idol stars, hot dramas or movies, and mock test scores. Consequently, for some teenagers, striking a reasonable balance between academics and friends can be very hard, especially in Korean society. But if you are really concerned about improving your academic performance, you might have to do the “un-cool” thing. You might have to refrain from answering a classmate who is whispering to you. You might have to let a neighbor in your science class know that you are not interested in passing notes. You might even have to ask your teacher to change your seat because it is hard for you to stay focused in your present one. Go for it! No one’s approval matters more than your own.

Superheroes
In childhood, we make owns’ idol from superheroes through the media. Me, either. When I was a child, I saw many super heroes through media – Sarah (Sailor moon), Sally (Angel girl Nettie), spider man etc. Among them my idol was Sarah in Sailor moon. Sarah was beautiful, cute, and having great sense of justice but also a normal girl. She acts frivolously and cries often. However, she had a mission that saving earth from evil force. I’m going to explain why I want to be Sarah if I could be a super hero.
There are many reasons that I want to be a Sarah, sailor moon, among the various super heroes. First, she is cute and pretty. She also has a good shape. However, I’m not cute and pretty. What’s more, I’m in the situation that I should go on a diet. Since I was 4 years old, Sarah was my idol about an appearance.
Second, she has an ability to fight with evils. In sailor moon story, there is evil force which threaten earth. It is impossible for common people to resist them if they have a will, but Sarah is different. Since she was a princess of the moon at the former life, she has special ability to resist them – for example, moon crystal power, moon tiara power etc. That is why she is an idol super heroin.
Third, she resembles me in some parts. For example, she late for school frequently and act frivolously. Me, either. I sometimes forget my assignments and late for school, not frequently but sometimes. I think Sarah represents most girls in the world. They all want to be perfect, but in the reality, it’s not. They late for school, fell down frequently, and forget something very often.
So, I told you that my reasons of being Sarah in the sailor moon if I could be a super hero. Sailor moon is a piece of my innocent childhood, like your favorite teddy bear in the attic. I hope that I could remember it longer so I can remind my childhood for a long time.

Cats and dogs
Cats and dogs are eternal enemies. They both crave for people’s attraction. They have each own’s merits and defects. However, I prefer dogs than cats. Of course, It doesn’t mean that cats are bad pets, but I think dogs have better merits than cats.
First, they are animated than cats. Once I have been to cat café, which sells coffee and drinks with a chance to play with cats, but it was just throwing my money away. Cats were sleeping all day long. I tried to wake up them, but they looked at me with annoying mood. Some cats even tried to scratch my face. Only time when they woke up was snack time. They had never act charming. However, when I went to dog café, all of them was so animated that it felt like a loud noise. Also, they always act charming. They shake their tails, and when I throw a ball, they picked it up.
Second, dogs have a great sense of loyalty. From the folk tales, we heard about the dog that save the master from fire, instead dying him/herself in fire. It means that dogs have a great sense of loyalty. However, None of the stories have been come down about cats’ loyalty.
These are the reasons why I prefer dogs than cats.

How to use cafeteria
How to use cafeteria
What can you do if there isn’t lot of money in your pocket in the lunchtime? Perhaps, cafeteria can be a solution. A meal in cafeteria is about 2000~2500 won so you can enjoy your meal. If you want to use cafeteria, first, you should decide where to go. There are 3 cafeterias in our university – Nanhyankwan, students’ cafeteria, professors’ cafeteria. Nanhyangkwan sells various flour - based food such as jjajangmyeon, kimchi noodle, nangmyeon etc. Students’ cafeteria and professors’ cafeteria sell Korean food, but professors’ cafeteria has a buffet menu.
If you decided where to go, then, decide what to eat and go to the counter and buy the coupon. Coupon’s color is various for the kind of food. Anyway, for example if you decide to eat jjajangmyeon at Nanhyankwan, you should go to the counter and buy the jjajangmyeon coupon. And then, you give the coupon to the worker at jjajangmyeon section, receive the food, and eat.
Cafeteria is popular for students because it is cheap and quantity is great. Also, it’s near to classroom than other restaurant around SSWU so you don’t have to go so far. But there is also a weakness – it’s hard to get a seat. So, if you like to enjoy your meal at our cafeteria, you should get a seat first and get the meal.

Fast foods
These days, It’s war of the fast food brands – Mcdonalds, Lotteria, Burger King. They have different concepts and marketing. All being considered, I think Lotteria is the best among those brands.
First, It has variety menus. Lotteria have 17 kinds of hamburgers. However, Burger King have 12 kinds of hamburgers, and Mcdonalds have only 8 kinds. The reason of Lotteria’s various hamburgers is patty. Lotteria use various kinds of hamburger patties – beef, pork, chicken, shirimp and even cattlefish. Actually, Burger King don’t have shirimp or cattlefish patties, and Mcdonalds don’t have shirimp patty. It makes people to go Lotteria than other brands more often.
Also, Lotteria have variety side menus. Lotteria has 12 kinds of dessert, 13 kinds of drink – waffle, shake shake chicken, crunch shirimp, cattlefish ring, cheese stick, ice cream (tornado, soft icecream, and ice flakes), lemonade, café mocha, cappuccino, pomegranate juice, milk shake etc. Otherwise, Mcdonalds have only five side menus and 3 kinds of desserts – Mc nuggets, snack wrap, corn salad, orange juice etc. Burger King have 5 kinds of dessert, 6 kinds of drink – grape fruit ade, Affogato (vanilla ice cream in espresso coffee) etc.
Second, in Jamsil, where I live, there is a Lotte department store, so it is filled up with Lotte stores. It has 3 Lotterias in Jamsil and it means that I go to Lotteria than other fast foods brands more often. So, I prefer Lotteria than other fast food restaurants.
Whatsmore, Lotteria in Jamsil is different from other fast food restaurants. Mostly, fast food restaurants have hard chair so the customers can’t stay long at restaurants. If the customers stay long in fast food restaurants, it will be difficult to be “fast”. However, Jamsil Lotteria has soft sofas and cozy atmosphere. That is not limited in Jamsil Lotteria. Newly built Lotteria has cozy atmosphere that the customers can stay long for their convenience. However, Burger King and Mcdonalds are not having cozy atmosphere. They still use hard chair. So, atmosphere in Lotteria makes me to go often than other fast food restaurants.
To conclude, there are many reasons that I like Lotteria than other fast food brands.

YU
Last Friday, I went to Yonsei University, because my friend promised me a nice meal at TGIF. Of course, I shouted "olleh!" and go to Shinchon station to meet her. We had a nice meal at TGIF in U-plex, Hyundai department store. At there, we can see the Yonsei university.
After we had meal, I asked my friend to take a walk in Yonsei university. So, we went to YU, and it was really nice. Especially, the library which was built in last year. It has reading rooms and study rooms in every floor. Whats more, there are game machine in the underground of the library. It was decorated like an art museum. Most of all, there was a cafe in rooftop of the library. The cafe menus were cheap. I drank strawberry juice and it costs only 2000 won.
Their cafeteria was fantastic, too. It has 6 menus in main cafeteria. Each department building has its own cafeteria. It was clean and big.
At last, we get tired, so we went to girls' lounge. It has even a refrigerator, and TV with soft sofas. We had a deep talk about our freshman life in there.
Once, Yonsei University was my dreamschool. I can't help stop my comparison about Sungshin and Yonsei. Yonsei had an excellent facilities. How about Sungshin? Of course, it is not bad but.. We had nothing in our girls' lounge, and cafe is more expensive and actually there aren't much reading room for students so we don't have a place to sudy in exam term. However, we pay almost same tuition fee compare to Yonsei's student. It was happy to see my friend, but I felt an inferior and bitter.

I want to do..
To say frankly, I’m doing an important thing in those days. It’s secret, perhaps I can tell this fact on next year. Anyway, I’m making self – imprisonment by myself. I don’t care about my clothes, no make – up, no watching TV…whatsoever. Sometimes I feel skepticism about that – Why am I have to do like that?
But If I can achieve my goal (though I can’t tell to anyone yet), I’ll do that, and I’m doing.
After I achieve my goal, I’m going to reward myself about enduring self – imprisonment. First, I’ll do the part – time job so I’ll make money about 1500000 won. Then, I’ll take journey with my high-school friends. Perhaps, It will be Japan. Second, I’ll download all TV dramas which I wanted to watch – Cinderella’s sister, or Jaejungwon something like that. How fantastic it will be! Third, I’ll meet friends whom I miss nowdays. I really want to meet them but I’m very busy with doing my important project, so I can’t meet them. We will watch movie, do shopping, and have a deep talk about ourselves. I really hope to achieve my goals and do those things. So, I’ll do my best.

MFD
In Korea, there is a word “엄친딸” – translated to mother’s friend’s daughter(MFD).
It means a person of excellent caliber.
There are many MFDs in the world, but I think Emma Watson – an English actress – is a real MFD.
Needless to say, she is beautiful.
She had a permission to 4 universities – Cambridge, Yale, Columbia, Princeton, Northwestern, Brown, UPEN, Michigan, UC Berkely and Trinity college.
She got an all A+ when she was a high school student – at dragon school.
Whatsmore, her SAT score was 2310/2400.
She born at Paris and lived there since she became 6 years old.
Because her grandmother is French, she can speak French like native speaker.
Both her mother and father are lawyer who graduate Cambridge law school.
Her mother is an adviser lawyer of Chelsy, and included in the ranking of 100 wealthy lawyers in UK.
Her father is a professor of St.Andrews university and also a lawyer..
And her grandfather is an oxonian.
He worked at law firm for 20 years and became a judge and retired of justice of the Supreme court.
As a becoming a judge, he gained a knighthood, so their family became nobles.
God is fair, but maybe… God made mistake

What is the peace means in international society?
What is the peace mean in international society?
Frankly speaking, my first dream was to become a great diplomat.(Now, it changes.)
However, When I was 17 years old, I started to learn world history in high school.
Then, I considered about what is the peace mean in international society.
If you look at your world history textbook, You’ll see that most of the contents is Chinese/European history - so called a powerful country.
How about Africa or Asia?
Africa takes only 5 pages in the whole history book, also Asia (excluding China) takes 3 pages in the each unit.
But it is not the situation in Korea.
Canada or U.S. ‘s world history textbook also give weight to powerful country’s history.
How about UN?
It is just an organization which is consist of strong countries’ interest.
Perhaps everyone knows – a permanent of the UN Security Council have superiority than UN president.
Also, only who have the permission of the UN Security Council, can be a UN president.
Do you really think that UN is the true organization to realize an international peace?
There is one more thing to know. Look at Africa map. The borders in Africa are usually vertical, or horizontal.
Why this happen?
Because of an imperialism, Africa was divided by strong countries only by their interest.
As a result, enemy tribes of Africa are in same country so they fight all days.
And people who have no fault are dying.
Is it right?

Being a university student
When I decided to enter Sungshin women’s university, many people around me said to me that women’s university might be so boring and less competitive than Coeducation University and students are really individualistic.
When I decided to become SSWU student, people who have an acquaintance told me that I’ll have a boring days.
So l was very nervous and worried to my freshman life but I thought that I could make the better and more interesting university life with my new friends.
It made me nervous and worried about my university days, however I decided to think positive.
I wish what I heard is just rumors.
And prey for god that is just rumors.
After I became the university freshman, I knew that the rumors are true or not.
After I enter the university, I could distinguish what is right and wrong.
At first, I didn’t have and friends in a week because l didn’t participate in freshman orientation.
However, soon, I made many friends and they are sociable and funny.
But, now is the different.
They are not individualistic.
They are sociable.
So my university life is full of interesting things and pleasure. Meanwhile, I realized that women’s university is less competitive than Coeducation University in many ways. It’s sad, but true.
I don’t want to ignore that.
I’ll make a change.
I have pride with my university and I want to overcome and struggle that fact
I have to overcome~

The feeling of being Sungshin freshman..
It's difficult to write my feeling about my freshman life in Sungshin. Well, to say frankly, I was disapponted. When I was high school student, all the teachers said that "If you become the university student, you'll be thin and have a date with your nice boyfriend" and whatever...they told me that "university" means "dreamland", and I studied hard to enter the university. Although my dreamschool was not SSWU, I felt confidence that I become the university student. And nowdays, I feel empty. And sometimes, I recall my highschool days and wanted to go back at that time because highschool students' life is simple - only study.
In highschool, the only thing that I have to do was studying hard. But nowdays, my life is continuity of trouble - Who am I and Where I am? The university was not a dreamland that I imagine. Perhaps it's just a subcontractor of big company - to get a job like the hand-written poster at K university. Also, tuition is too expensive - Brightning in Global generation or having a debt.(In Korean, G-세대로 빛나거나, 빚내거나)What's more, I have a question about my aptitude. My dream was being a diplomat at first time, but when I studied world history at highschool, I thought it is not an appropriate job for me. Next was being a copywriter, but nowdays I think my ability is not sufficient for that. What am I have to do? It feels like that becoming Alice in Wonderland. But most important thing is, I feel an inferiority. When I met my friends who are students of Yonsei or SNU, I feel small. In highschool days, I thought now we're wearing same school uniform, but in the future, if I would be sick and go to hospital, one of my friends can be there because she is a doctor. And If I travel abroad, one of my friends can be there because she is a diplomat. Then, How about me?? Can I laugh with my friends at that time like in highschool days? And I'm so sad that thought is likely to actualizing.
Yu Na Kim, the korean figure skater, and also a Vancouver olympic gold medalist, get the lowest score at short program since at the 2010 Torino ISU, and get a silver medal, not gold. Some journal - especially japanese monkeys - says that she can get a gold medal because she was just lucky. Also, some says she isn't a goddess of figure skating anymore. But, Who can throw her a stone?
Olympic gold medal is the best honor for all figure skaters. And Yuna Kim did it. She decided to take part in 2010 Torino ISU, only 1 week ago, and that means she only had a time to practice only a week. Let's suppose that you get a perfect score on KSAT, and get admission to SNU, but you didn't do well on the final exam - It doesn't matter exactly. To say frankly, it's an amazing that she can get a silver medal because she had only a week to practice for it.
What's more, we have to considerate Korean ISU. They don't support for Kim Yu Na. The only thing that they supply for her is an airplane ticket. It's all her burden - uniform, coaching, and even an entry fee! However, Japn or USA supply much things to their skaters. Look at Asada Mao or Ando Miki! They change their uniform very frequently because their government support them. In a short word, it's a miracle that she can be a gold medalist in Korea.
In Korean proverb, there is a saying - Monkey can fall from a tree. Frankly, If I was Yu Na Kim, I would say "Ice in Torino stadium was terrible" or "My boots is crazy.", but she says "I was wrong, after the olympic, I was in an excessive pride, it's all my fault." Perhaps that is the reason why we call her goddess of figure skating, or the Olympic Champion.
Anyone can't be a queen.
My favorite song
My hobby is listening music. I listen various types of music - classical, pop, J-pop, OST.. etc. I especially like Mariah Carey's song - Hero.
When I was a high school student 3rd year, I was living very hard life. I had to prepare for the 수능(Korean SAT). Actually, studying was not hard but competing with many students - it made me tired.
But "Hero", it's lyrics were very impressive to me.
There's a hero, if you look into your soul
You don't have to be afraid of what you are
There's an answer if you look into your soul
and the sorrow that you felt will melt away...
I still like this song. It's hopeful message. Frankly, as I became an university student, sometimes I feel that there's nothing change as my high school days. We have to compete with each other to get a job, to get a good score, and anything else. In this situation, If you listen this song, you can feel confidence that I felt. I promise.

My ideal boyfriend.
My ideal boyfriend is a perfect guy.
He is handsome, tall. And his personality is great.
He is always understanding me and good mannered like the Daddy-long-legs in the novel.
He also has a lovely voice.
Moreover, he is rich

My favorite TV program ended 1 week ago - High kick through the roof. There are many characters who represents our modern life. But, I felt similiar to Jung Eum, mostly.
She is Seo Oun University student, not a Seoul National University. If people ask her about her university, she feel inferiority cuzz her university name is similiar to Seoul national university, but just name. In short, SNU is the one of the top universities in Korea, but Seo Oun is not.
So, she has an inferior educational background. Also, she is 88만원 generation - which means nowdays unemployment. She apply to many company, but she always fail cuzz she doesn't have a better final educational background than other SKY student.
I think this social situation in nowdays is very serious and bad. How people can be known by only his or her final educational background? There are many things that can't be gained with an academic cliques. It's just the tip of an iceberg.
Anyway, in this sitcom, there are many episodes that represent our society. Jung Eum deceive her final educational background and become pivate tutor(of course, it wasn't designed situation) and get involved with Jun Hyuk - the private student - and Ji Hun - Jun Hyuk's uncle who graduates SNU medical school - . And she grows through these episodes.
There are also many other character's episodes. They are mostly heartless people in modern society and their episodes give us tears and laugh. I recommend this sitcom.

Terrible..
Today, I met my friend - Yu Ji who was in the same class when we were high school student. Now, she is Han Yang University student. She majors in Education. She finished her lessons at 5 o'clock so she came to our university. At first, she was very surprised at our hills from the front gate. We went to the NOM - the Italian restaurant near Sung shin women's university. But problem was - I had an enteritis. In the morning, my stomach was bubbling but I didn't care. Howeber over time, my stomach keeps on bubbling so hardly. Finally, I had to go to restroom during English Reading class. But I had to eat dinner because I skipped the lunch so I was very hungry. And secondly, Yu Ji come all the way from Han Yan university to Sung Shin. Besides, after I went to restroom, my stomach mellowed up. So, We went to NOM and have a nice dinner. After that, We went to Baskin Robbins 31 and have a dessert and talked an hour about our high-school-days. At 9:00, We decided to go home and it was terrible. As the subway start, my stomach began bubbling againㅠㅜ...I had to suffer patiently...

My first impression of Sung-shin
My first impression of Sungshin
When I first enter the gate of Sung-shin women's university, I was surprised about the hill which is inclined at 75 degrees. I couldn't understand why the designer who built our university built our university at this slope. According to the D internet portal site, our hills come near to ski slope. Anyway, it was hard for me to hiking our hills.
However, after I heard about Sung-shin's history I felt proud of our university. Although there are many women's university at Korea, Sung-shin is the only university that established of native capital. In my opinion, the reason that the designer built our university at this slope is to grow strong willpower through hiking the hill.
By the way, I think that Sung-shin's professors are ready for our education. Most of them are veteran at each part, and this will be very helpful for our growth. Also, our alumna are taking great role at society, in various ways. For example, the KBS announcer Lee-Ji-Ae let people to know about various parts of society-life, culture, an international situation, economics etc. One of the university's role is to grow an appropriate people for our society, these are desirable.
Also, Sung-shin is the university for only women, not men. It means that we are free from men's way of thinking-for example, male chauvinism. Also, talking and thinking about the women's freedom or women's right will be more easier than other university.
At last, Sung-shin is developing university. It will have 2 campus in Seoul, and also new departments. These will become Sung-shin's new competitive edges. Nowdays, I'm half excited and half afraid of my new life in Sung-shin. But I believe that I can do well.
